Brenda Chamberlain, the Welsh artist, poet and writer, lived a remarkable and eventful life. Her poetry developed alongside that of Dylan Thomas and others of the 'Welsh school'. Born in Bangor, Wales, she studied art at the Royal Academy in London, but simultaneously developed an interest in poetry. Just before the Second World War, she moved in with artist John Petts, and together they set up the Caseg Press at their home on Bardsey Island in Wales, where she lived from 1947 to 1961. This is reguarded as her most important work and it evokes her life on the island, and has wonderful illus by her. CONDITION Black bds with crisp Silver title (clean and unworn) 222 pages with 4 colour plate illus and nice woodblock illus through out. Name inside front and original book seller stamp to ffep o/w very bright and crisp. Very Good/No Jacket.
